To whom it may concern:
On behalf of the SAE Youth World Board, I write in support
Of Mr. Havadjias idea to erect an Olympic memorial in Olympia, Greece.
Hellenic youth of the diaspora look forward to participating As volunteers during
the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. It is the youth’s goal to assist in the
preparation and execution of a memorable Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Towards that
same end, memorializing the names of Olympic medallists From the upcoming Olympic
Games, along with those of the past and the future in the manner proposed by
Mr. Havadjias is sure to leave an indelible mark for anyone who visits the proposed
monument.
This project encourages people to come from all parts of the world to visit ancient
Olympia and also view the names of fellow countrymen and women who were Olympic
Games Medal winners. The sense of pride generated would not o-nly be for Hellenes,
but for the world as a whole. The proposal combines the Hellenic traditions of
architecture and memorialization. Names inscribed the Hellenic traditions of
architecture and memorialization. Names inscribed o-n Pendelic marble will certainly
be preserved and commemorated by future generations.
In closing, we are proud to support such a historical undertaking.Sincerely,
Michael Galanakis
